Did these photos using an old Graflex Speedgraphic 4x5 camera,prodicing a 4x5 film negative which was then printed in a darkroom.

I met Gerard years ago when I was in art school at SVA,we were in different departments but met in drawing class and became fast friends. When drawing male models, I never wanted to deal with drawing the penis...just too much trouble as all men were not created equal when it comes to penis size....used a lot of cross hatching and shading in that area.                                              We did frontal shots but they are not included here. Gerard was depicted as if he was a piece of sculpture.

Model Statement

"Depiction of the male nude was always a big thing for me. Nude men were not depicted well in the modern age, sexuality was played down and they were somewhat idealized. I chose to challenge convention by depicting male's with erect cocks and drew and painted erect male cocks almost exclusively.Bob was an ally in this quest of many to find new and different ways to depict the male nude. These photos that I did with Bob recently are more about form and light, and his easygoing nature and way of seeing has always been valued by me over the years."
